Privacy Policy
Plain-language description of what AddSpeechBubble does with data. Effective September 7, 2026.
The short version
- Pictures you edit are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to us unless you press Publish to share them in the gallery.
- You do not need an account. Google sign-in exists only for publishing to the gallery and for the optional Pro plan.
- We use a lightweight analytics service that counts page views and two events (a download, a return visit). It does not build advertising profiles.
- Ads on the site are served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies. You can opt out of personalised ads at Google.
- Email hello@addspeechbubble.com to see or delete anything we hold about you.
1. Who we are
AddSpeechBubble (https://addspeechbubble.com) is operated by Rainverse, an independent studio. When this policy says "we", it means Rainverse. Contact: hello@addspeechbubble.com.
2. The editor: everything happens in your browser
When you open a photo in the editor, the file is read by your browser and drawn on a canvas on your device. The finished picture is generated on your device too, and the download comes straight from there. No copy of your photo or of the result is sent to our servers, and we cannot see what you make.
The editor keeps a few things in your browser's local storage so the tool is convenient to come back to:

None of this leaves your device. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it.
3. When you publish to the gallery
Publishing is the one action that uploads a picture. When you press Publish we store the image file on Cloudflare R2 and a record in our database with the picture's title, the bubble settings, the source link and licence you enter, the time, and the identity of the account that published it. Published pictures are public: anyone can view them, and search engines can index them.
To publish you sign in with Google. Google tells us your Google account ID, email address, display name and avatar picture, and we store those so the picture can be attributed to you and removed at your request. We do not receive your Google password and we do not post anything to your Google account. Signing in sets one session cookie on this site; it expires on its own and is not used for advertising.
Every gallery picture has a Report button. Reports are rate-limited by IP address; the address is kept for that purpose only, for up to 36 hours.
4. The AI meme generator
The text prompt you type is sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to generate an image, then returned to your browser. We do not store prompts or generated images. To keep the free quota fair, we count generations per IP address per day; that counter expires after 36 hours.
5. Analytics
We use DataFast to understand which pages are used and whether the editor works. It records the page address, the referring site, the browser and device type, the country derived from the IP address, and two events: that a download happened (once per visit, with the bubble style and file format, never the picture) and that a browser came back for another visit. DataFast does not use advertising cookies and we do not send it names, email addresses or pictures.
Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, requested address, user agent) for security and abuse prevention.
6. Advertising
We show ads from Google AdSense to keep the editor free. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Google's own privacy practices are described in the Google advertising privacy notice.
Ads are never shown inside the pictures you make, and the Pro plan removes ads from the site for its members.
7. Cookies
This site sets a cookie only when you sign in with Google (a session cookie, so you stay signed in). Advertising cookies come from Google as described above. The editor's own storage uses your browser's local storage and IndexedDB, which are not cookies and are not sent to any server. You can block or delete all of these in your browser settings; the editor keeps working without them, but drafts and recent works will not be remembered.
8. Other services and links
Fonts are served from our own domain, not from Google Fonts. The site links to other websites, including Sumi, a manga translator made by the same studio. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
9. How long we keep things
- Gallery pictures and their records: until you ask us to remove them or we remove them for breaking the rules.
- Google account details from sign-in: while you have an account; deleted when you ask.
- Session cookies: they expire automatically.
- IP-based rate-limit counters: up to 36 hours.
- Analytics: aggregated by DataFast under its retention terms.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Brazil or California, the law gives you these rights explicitly and we honour them for everyone. Email hello@addspeechbubble.com from the address you signed in with; we answer within two business days and complete deletions within 30 days.
11. Children
The editor can be used without an account by anyone. Sign-in and publishing are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep information about them. If you believe a child has published to the gallery, contact us and we will remove the picture and the account.
12. Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of this page. Substantial changes, such as a new service that receives data, will be announced on the blog. This version is effective September 7, 2026.
